Parents and Caregivers are Invited to a Free Parenting Conference with Keynote by Author Paula Hines Lonergan

Day One and over 30 partners invite all parents and caregivers to the Parent and Caregiver Conference “Partners in Parenting” on Saturday, March 19, 2005, at John Muir High School located at 1905 Lincoln Avenue in Pasadena, California, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The keynote is Paula Hines Lonergan, author of “A Titan of a Man.”

All parents, grandparents, foster parents, caregivers, and mentors are invited to a free parenting conference. This informal mini-conference is sponsored by Day One as part of Parenting Awareness Month. The activities provide all caregivers a needed and well-deserved break, along with help, resources, and support. In addition to workshops, there will be a continental breakfast and lunch, and child-care provided all day.

The keynote speaker is Pasadena resident, Paula Hines Lonergan, author of the book “A Titan of a Man – A Coach of the Famous ’71 Titans Who Inspired Generations of Young People.” She is the daughter of Coach Paul “Doc” Hines who was featured in the Disney movie “Remember the Titans.” In A Titan of a Man, she tells her father’s story about how he overcame obstacles and reached his goals to be successful in his family life and career. In her keynote address, Ms. Lonergan will share the life lessons for success she learned from her father, providing encouragement, empowerment, and inspiration to all caregivers.
